7. Events and Competitions

7.1 Event Registration

When you register for an event or purchase a ticket, you enter into an agreement with the event organizer. The organizer is the seller and merchant of record for the event, and UTC provides the platform and payment facilitation services.

7.2 Tickets and Refunds

Each event organizer sets the refund policy for their own event, publishes it with the event listing, and is responsible for applying it. The organizer is the seller and merchant of record; UTC provides the checkout, the refund tools the organizer uses, and the buyer protections described in this section. Requests that fall outside those protections are decided by the organizer, and UTC does not guarantee a refund except as set out below or where required by law.

Until an event's scheduled start time you may cancel a card-paid ticket order yourself from the order screen in the UTC mobile app, whatever the organizer's own policy says. Cancelling returns the ticket price to your original payment method, voids the tickets on that order, and releases them back to the event's inventory. The UTC service fee shown at checkout is not refunded. Once the event has started, self-serve cancellation closes and any request has to go to the organizer.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed, the organizer is responsible for refunding the affected orders through UTC's organizer tools; UTC does not cancel events or issue those refunds automatically on an organizer's behalf. If an event does not take place and the organizer has not refunded you, contact support@utc.dance. We will review the order and, where the payment is still recoverable from the payment processor, we can issue the refund directly and recover the amount from the organizer's payout.

An approved refund is submitted to our payment processor immediately and is returned to the original payment method used at checkout — we cannot send a refund to a different card or account, or pay it out as cash or platform credit. How long the money takes to appear on your statement is set by your bank or card issuer, and is typically 5–10 business days. A partial refund returns only the amount stated; the rest of the order and its tickets stay valid.

Some refunds cannot be completed automatically — for example once the payment processor's own refund window for the original charge has closed, or where an order was paid with a local payment method whose refunds we still process by hand. In those cases contact support@utc.dance and we will arrange the return with the provider. Nothing in this section limits any refund rights you have under the consumer law that applies to you.

7.3 Rankings and Results

Rankings are calculated based on competition results submitted by organizers. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee the correctness of all rankings.

8. Payment Terms

8.1 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe on behalf of the event organizer. You agree to Stripe's terms of service when making payments.

8.2 Fees and Pricing

Prices are displayed at checkout and include applicable fees. We reserve the right to change fees with notice.

8.3 Organizer Payouts

Event organizers receive payouts according to Stripe and UTC payment schedules, minus UTC platform fees, payment processing costs, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and other applicable adjustments.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 Service "As Is"

UTC is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
